dj_compost Very good interpretation of old roots dances from the "occitan" valleys in Italy. A very good balance of roots, dirt, and creative arrangements.

about

"SONO" is our second work. It is the sum of many years of shared dedication, of working on music and with music. We have always done this, united by a deep love for the music of tradition that runs through the western Alpine arc. We do not do philology, however much we recognise its importance. We believe that the strength of traditional music lies not only in the melodies, but that it insinuates itself into the contexts, into the joints, into the imperfections, into the memory. We do not innovate. Perhaps, in our own way, we experiment with the instruments we have at our disposal. A game that began in the 1990s with the Compagnons Roulants, continued with Edaq Ensemble and gradually through the realisation of many other projects. The sounds on this record are a little rough, a little dark, Because music, in its multifaceted nature, possesses dirt, roughness and darkness. Often forgotten, neglected, rendered minor. These are the colours that make up the tapestry of a complex and authentic identity. Accompanying us in the realisation of our idea is a long-standing friend, Renat Sette, with his unique voice, a singer of the most authentic Provence, known at the turn of the millennium with the Dona Bela and Arco Alpino projects.friendships, fortunately, last.
